The Replacements. Dat was een geweldige band in de jaren ’80. Helaas nogal zelfdestructief aangelegd. Soms waren ze geniaal, soms was het een ongenadig zootje. Drank en drugs waren daar behoorlijk debet aan doorgaans. Deze opnames uit Maxwell’s in NY uit hun glorietijd zijn recent teruggevonden. ‘Recorded using a 24-track mobile studio, the 29-track For Sale features Replacements favorites alongside a mix of covers and B-sides. The concert also features one of the final Replacements performances with the group’s “classic” lineup – frontman Paul Westerberg, guitarist Bob Stinson, bassist Tommy Stinson and drummer Chris Mars’.
